I’m a MASSIVE fan of Batman: The Animated Series (and Bruce Timm in general) and really dug when they gave the show a re-design in the later episodes. Scarecrow had alway been pretty dopey, even in the early run of the show, but when they gave him that creepy puritan-corpse revamp I remember being pretty impressed/spooked. That show to me is still the gold standard for any Batman adaptation. While I really liked some of the designs for the recent Arkham Asylum/City video games they (at least in my opinion) don’t really hold up as well as those simple and straight to the point Timm designs.
